Pre-Paid Legal b= ecomes title sponsor to Cord McCoy Invite

 

ADA, Okla. – The hometown flair of Memorial Day weekend festivities recently got= a big boost when Ada-based Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. (NYSE: PPD) became t= he title sponsor of the Cord McCoy Invitational presented by Ariat and Cooper Tires.

Cord McCoy is from nearby <= st1:place w:st=3D"on">Tupelo, Okla., but he’s made a name for himself in the world of rodeo, first as an all-around champion in the Oklahoma-based International Professional Rodeo Association, then riding bulls at the National Finals Rodeo and the Professional Bull Riders World Finals. More recently, he and brother Jet Mc= Coy finished runner-up in the CBS-TV reality series “The Amazing Race.= 221;

Now he’s going to be = bringing some of the top cowboys in the PBR – along with some of the elite athletes from the Professional Bullfighters Daisy Protection Bullfight Tour – to Ada for the Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. Cord McCoy Invitational, set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 28, and Saturday, May 29, at the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex= .

“The great thing abou= t this event is that we will be doing so many things to help raise money for Relay= for Life throughout the weekend,” said Jim D. McLain Jr., co-producer of = the event with McCoy. “Having Pre-Paid Legal involved is a big deal to us because it is such an Ada institution, an = Oklahoma institu= tion that has done so much for so many people.”

The festivities begin at 6 = p.m. Thursday at the Agri-Plex with the Oh My Gravy It’s a Pink Tie Affair= , a dinner set up through the invitational, the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce and the Relay for Life through the American Cancer Society. There is also a par= ade honoring Jet and Cord McCoy and their “amazing” showing in the = race around the world set for 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29. There will be spots throughout the weekend where people can donate to Relay.
